Assessment criteria (In addition to the general assessments, some specific assessments apply to certain categories:)
The jury will prioritise innovative design solutions that contribute to a sustainable life in a sustainable society. These may be processes, products or services that positively affect the development of individuals, companies and society at large.

Sustainability is assessed on the ability of the product or service to fit into a circular economy by being:

– Adapted for material recycling, comprised of recycled materials
– Energy and resource efficient in production and use
– Able to offer longevity through durability, reparability, renewability and changeability through upgrades, for example, of aesthetics and technology, etc.

Projects are also assessed on how the product/service is intended to be sold and handled during its lifespan in order to realise its sustainability potential.
Example: that the product is sold as a service or that there are services, spare parts, renovation services, return rights, material recycling, etc available.

This category will feature 4 nominees and one winner.

This category is presented in partnership with Design Sweden.
