Is it a chair, a sculpture or a toy? It’s all of them at once! Martin Thübeck’s bright red Lobster meets all the requirements of a chair, yet questions our notions of how a comfortable armchair should look. In serial production, it would challenge the industry to push its limits, while keeping that sculptural clout. The design is as permissive for restless children’s legs as it is for tired office backs on a Friday evening, and will fit a preschool, museum or lounge alike.

The modular sofa system Maki is as elegant and delicate as the sushi roll that inspired its name. The hollow backrest offers structural stability while creating aesthetic value and alternative ways of sitting. It is furthermore as beautiful as a solitary armchair as it is part of an assembled sofa. A future classic that will transform any bank or waiting room into a tasteful experience.

You don’t always have to be big to be seen. The stool Rocca stands like a perky exclamation mark in any environment. Its solution is deceptively simple, a steel tube and a seat – but the stool is as exact in its expression as it is unexpectedly comfortable. Not too comfortable, however – active sitting is important from a health perspective. Imagine so much can be done with so little!

The modular sofa system Seats snakes along like an elegant steel coil on the floor. With its sculptural design, it creates interesting lines and shadowplay in the room. It has two seat heights, which encourages active sitting as well as unexpected meetings in the public space.
