Temporary architecture shows the way. Fisksätra Folkets Hus is the first part of a long-awaited urban transformation with new schools, homes and services. There is a certain air of festivity about the building, reminiscent of the copper tents in Swedish palace gardens. Fisksätra Folkets Hus is an inviting meeting place that effortlessly connects indoors and outdoors. A commendable build and a worthy winner.

The core of the building represents the light of the Stockholm Archipelago, embraced by a quietly restrained and cautiously supported wooden building. On a careful foundation is only the amount of material needed for the studio, with high precision sheet metal and a massive wooden construction that makes the smallest possible impression, letting the surroundings take the limelight.

Grey as granite, the fort-like villa rises from the bedrock, small enough to be part of the dramatic terrain, large enough to free itself from the cliff. A striking eye-catcher, unusual in its minimalist expression, massive enough to be taken for a monument. A design that in no way inhibits interior functions.
