Can tensions between groups – which can lead to polarization – be tempered by designing empathy? Based on social design and research, the team at Fabrique used VR technology to enable people to step into each other’s worlds. They zoomed in on tensions between residents and young visitors to a shopping center in a neighborhood of Eindhoven, The Netherlands, where there is no active conflict but considerable irritation that could potentially lead to major problems.

In November 2022, visitors of the Stockholm hospital Södersjukhuset were invited to experience a healthcare visit in the future and to reflect upon the pros and cons of a healthcare system built on prediction and prevention.

To inspire meaningful dialogues, the space showcases art installations by international artists intersecting futures, hope and economy. Art is a powerful pathway not explored enough within systems change. It can inspire and unlock new thinking to create a better tomorrow.
