Aesop Sofo Stockholm

Aesop SOFO has the character of a home – a living room. Inspired by Gunnar Asplund’s defining approach at the Woodland Cemetery, we used wood in a 0.7 mm veneer curved to a geometry that unifies the space. We sought to create resemblance to the draped curtain. The geometry is repeated in the product displays and a seating niche. The wooden veneer is of alder. It matches the existing teak on the Backström & Reinius facade. Brass shelves are slightly patinated. Continuous shelves transform to different situations for display, a door handle or just a horizontal line that ties the geometry together. The old grinded concrete floor lies in contrast to the veneer.

Y5

The Y5 chair by Sami Kallio has a solid, trendy and contemporary design with a clear and strong expression. The name Y5 comes from the five inverted Y’s in the back of the chair. Maybe this is the chair that gives you a feeling of both lust and pleasure. The designer Sami Kallio tried his way along in his workshop to create a comfortable chair with a unique design language. “I often build my design on a traditional and functional foundation, but still try to add that little extra in the design to keep it fresh,” says
the designer.

Sami Kallio is an interior and furniture designer from Gothenburg with his own studio; Sami Kallio Studio. The Y5 chair is available in black stained elm, white birch, blonde ash and oiled oak. The Y5 chair is manufactured by Hans K, a family-owned furniture company that designs customised solid wood furniture for both private and public environments.

Soufflé

Soufflé is a series of ottomans and a table, designed by Danish designer Cecilie Manz. Soufflé is adapted to the idea of a customisable workplace, more mobile to meet today’s office demands. Inspired by nature with a vision of rocks in the archipelago, Soufflé is designed to fit into public spaces such as entrance halls or offices, as well as private homes. Soufflé comes in different sizes, all fully upholstered with a base in tough textile and a top of either a soft cushion filled with natural feathers, or a tabletop of your choice. Feathers have the lowest carbon footprint of all fill materials and are also a renewable resource, hence a natural choice of material. The feather filling also gives the feeling of a top of “whipped cream”, as Cecilie Manz said, giving the space a creative and unique feel.

Materials: Frame of wood and cold foam, feather filling, textile. Tabletop of white- pigmented solid ash

Tapetkollektionen Front

Eco Wallpaper’s collection Front consists of nine illustrated wallpaper prints with shadows that create an illusion of depth and structure. Behind the collection are some of Sweden’s best and most celebrated designers – the design group Front. Front have long been interested in and worked with magic and trompe l’oeil. The design process began with the designers sinking their scissors into some rolls of wallpaper. They cut, wove and folded them into figures that they then drew. They tested their way forward, looked for and found shapes that were both subtle enough to stay in the background, as wallpapers should in a home, and still stand out enough with a perception of threedimensionality. Some of the prints created the illusion of drapes, leaves and confetti rain.
